Friendly, affordable, monthly meetings offering networking, and support for ALL working women. WiRE (Women In Rural Enterprise) has been offering support to working women outside major cities since 1996. The Burton group is led by volunteers and only charges meeting fees to cover costs of venue hire and other essential expenses.
WiRE Burton offers a great opportunity to network with women who work and volunteer. We meet on the second Wednesday evening of the month between 7-9pm except in August and December when we enjoy a social evening in a local restaurant. For the other ten months of the year we meet at Branston Golf Club and Country Club, DE14 3DP, and offer friendly informal networking for members and visitors. We always offer the opportunity to introduce yourself and what you do to the room. You are welcome to bring along leaflets, flyers and business cards to distribute. Each month one WiRE member gives a 10-minute insight into her work. There is usually a guest speaker or workshop and occasionally we run a ‘pure networking’ night when there is chance to have longer 1-2-1 chats with different women at the meeting. Prices are £5 for WiRE members and £8 for non-members, which includes a hot drink. ALL working women (employed and self-employed) and those who volunteer for charities and good causes are welcome. You will pay on arrival. Any questions, please contact one of Burton’s three volunteer network leaders: Elaine, Alison or Lorraine. We do encourage you to book a place to let us know you PLAN to attend as this helps us prepare the room and contact you about any changes.
